Konami has joined forces with Limited Run Games to revive some of its classic titles, unveiling two iconic game series for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch this year. The initial release features Felix the Cat, encompassing Nintendo Entertainment System and Game Boy games from 1992 and 1993, and the second collection comprises Rocket Knight Adventures (Sega Genesis), Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2 (Sega Genesis), and Sparkster (Super NES). Limited Run Games is set to unveil limited editions for both.

As per Konami’s announcement, both games will be optimized using Limited Runs Carbon Engine, representing enhanced versions of their predecessors. Limited Runs Games will handle the physical versions, while Konami will be responsible for the digital release of the Felix collection. The Re-Sparked collection is anticipated to include an animated introduction, a rewind feature, and several unprecedented additions. The companies have also hinted at forthcoming Carbon Engine re-releases, with a new collection slated for introduction on February 24.

The standard edition of the Felix the Cat collection will comprise a physical game copy, while the classic edition will feature a physical copy, the original soundtrack on a CD, a reversible poster, and packaging reminiscent of the original. Similarly, the Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked collection will offer a standard edition with the physical game copy and three Rocket Knight titles in one collection, complete with a reversible cover and minicomic. The classic edition will include these components along with a physical CD of the original soundtrack, a steel book, and a certificate of authenticity, among other items.

Pre-orders for physical editions of Felix the Cat will be available from February 9 to March 10, while pre-orders for Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked will be open from January 19 to March 3.
