The Maharashtra government has announced a public holiday and one day sorrow on February 7, as a sign of respect for Melody Queen Mangeshkar, who died of post-covid complications in a hospital in Mumbai on Sunday.

Lata Mangeshkar, a legendary singer, who lured millions in his golden voice, died at 92.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the office of the Ministry of Chief (CMO) announced one day grief and a national holiday. All schools, colleges and government offices are still closed today.

The central government has also decided to “state grief” two days.

Bombay HC and other subordinate fields under the Jurisdiction of Bombay HC will also have a holiday today to lament the death of the legendary singer.

The official source said the national flag will be flown half past from February 6 to 7 February throughout India and there will be no official entertainment during this period.

The Monetary Policy Committee of the Reserve Bank of India will meet on February 8-10, not February 7-9, the central bank said on February 6.

“With February 7, 2022 is being declared as a public holiday by the Maharashtra government under Section 25 the instrument laws are negotiated, 1881 as a sign of respect for my Bharat Ratna. The West Bengal government has also stated a half-day vacation today and urges the government to play Lata Mangeshkar songs at an important intersection in the entire state for 15 days.

Other countries such as Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh also expressed a two-day grief as a sign of respect for legendary singers.
