Actor Armie Hammer and Marina Gris have officially called off their brief engagement. Gris, Hammer’s purported ex-fiancée, took to her Instagram story on January 11 to disclose that they had parted ways some time ago. The 37-year-old actor had proposed to her in October 2023, but their engagement lasted only two months.
In her Instagram post, Gris reflected on the end of their relationship, stating, “It’s with a reflective heart that I announce the end of my journey with Armie, a chapter that’s been deeply personal and warmly significant in my life and closed a month ago.” Despite sharing her side of the story, Gris made it clear that the sexual assault allegations against Hammer, made by multiple women, were not the cause of their breakup.
She emphasized, “Before you send any more unwelcome messages, I acknowledge the discussions and stories circulating about him. It’s crucial for me to clarify that my interactions with Armie were positive and unrelated to these allegations.”
Expressing her feelings about their relationship, Gris emphasized that she felt deeply appreciated, supported, loved, and understood in their time together. She clarified, “I speak only from my perspective and my experiences and am not responsible for any of his past, current and future relationships.” Despite the previous allegations against Hammer, Gris vouched for him, stating, “I know him as a gentleman in every sense of the word.”
It’s worth noting that Armie Hammer faced accusations of sexual assault in 2021, with a woman claiming that he had raped her for over four hours in April 2017. However, in May 2023, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that he would not face charges related to sexual assault. Additionally, Hammer finalized a divorce settlement with Elizabeth Chambers in June 2023, following her filing for divorce in 2020.
