CRKD, the renowned creators behind the highly sought-after Nitro Deck Controller for the Nintendo Switch, have recently unveiled their latest offering: the CRKD Neo S gamepad, reminiscent of the classic NES controller but with a modern twist. Priced at $50, this wireless controller boasts compatibility with a range of platforms including switches, PCs, phones, and smart TVs.
The CRKD Neo S inherits the innovative features of the Nitro Deck, such as two thumbsticks, a D-pad, four action buttons, triggers, customizable back buttons, and adjustable vibration. With its sleek design and versatile functionality, it promises an enhanced gaming experience across multiple devices.
Adding to its appeal are the various design options available, evoking nostalgia for classic Nintendo consoles. One variant sports a golden color scheme reminiscent of the iconic Game & Watch or Famicom, while others echo the transparent designs of the Nintendo 64 controller and Game Boy Color portable console.
In addition to color variations, the CRKD Neo S introduces three distinct designs—blossom, splatter, and junkyard—crafted by CRKD’s creative director, POPeART, drawing inspiration from the Japanese aesthetic concept of Wabi-Sabi, which celebrates imperfections and incompleteness.

Despite being primarily a gaming accessory, CRKD positions the Neo S as a statement piece, bolstered by a dedicated mobile app for tracking the controller. While its digital safety and rarity are emphasized, its mass appeal remains to be seen.
Leo S, CEO of Embracer Freemode, expressed enthusiasm for the Neo S, citing the positive reception of the Nitro Deck and the product’s unique features, which set it apart from other controllers on the market.
Pre-orders for the Neo S are now available on CRKD’s official website, with shipments expected to commence in April. With each version priced at $50, gaming enthusiasts can anticipate an April release for this stylish and feature-rich controller.
