Amidst Tori Spelling’s recent announcement regarding her decision to file for divorce, Dean McDermott has now stirred up further media attention with his own statement.
In a gathering in Los Angeles on Saturday, the 57-year-old drew significant media focus, coming less than 24 hours before his wife initiated divorce proceedings.
Dean, sharing that he’s been holding up well, proceeded to comment on the specifics of their divorce, stating, “It’s been a long time coming but T and I are good.” Additionally, an eyewitness, part of the media team, noted that Dean McDermott was still visibly wearing his wedding ring.
His remarks quickly made headlines following his estranged wife, Tori Spelling’s, revelations about the divorce on the inaugural episode of her podcast, misSpelling.
During the podcast, Spelling delved into her mental health struggles, candidly discussing her feelings of loneliness and self-worth. She expressed, “I’ve never felt more alone. I don’t feel worth loving. That’s the truth. And that’s a feeling ingrained within you, it’s not something I wanted or created. That starts when you’re young. that’s not easy to do. … I don’t know if you can.”
Furthermore, in the same podcast, the actress disclosed that she had contemplated divorce for the past 15 years. However, she initially postponed her plans due to concerns for her children.
Spelling, in her divorce assertions, added, “It would have been over a lot sooner.”
In addition to the divorce revelations, Dean McDermott courted controversy in 2014 when he publicly admitted to having an extramarital affair.
Reflecting on her husband’s public admission of infidelity in 2014, Tori remarked, “I was like, he’s going to cheat on me, he’s going to cheat on me, he’s going to cheat on me,” further stating, “So when it happened, I was like, ‘See, I always thought from day one he was going to cheat on me,’ and it wasn’t about him, that was about me.”
The couple first crossed paths during the filming of the TV film, Mind Over Murder, in 2005, and subsequently exchanged vows in a private ceremony in 2006. Despite renewing their vows in 2010, they encountered numerous relationship hurdles over the span of a decade, culminating in the decision to pursue a divorce.
