Google to Introduce Exciting Changes to Bard AI Tool, Including Name Change to Gemini

Google is gearing up to unveil a significant update for its Bard AI tool, with plans to introduce a new changelog in the coming week. While reports of these changes have yet to be officially confirmed by Google, sources suggest that one of the major alterations includes rebranding Bard’s AI persona to “Gemini.” This move aligns with Google’s recent introduction of its multimedia AI, also named Gemini, which has already begun integration into various products, including Bard AI.

Android developer Dylan Roussel recently shared details of the changelog on February 7, hinting at imminent changes to Bard AI. Additionally, reports indicate that alongside the update, Google will introduce a paid advanced tier for Gemini, enhancing its capabilities for users. Furthermore, the Gemini app will receive an update specifically tailored for Android devices.

In a separate report, it was suggested that Google might officially rename Bard as “Gemini,” further solidifying the integration of the new AI framework into its ecosystem.

Responding to the news, some users expressed excitement over the expanded availability of Bard AI, particularly in Canada. However, concerns were raised regarding potential limitations of the app, especially for users residing in Europe.

Furthermore, insights into the upcoming Gemini Advanced tier suggest significant improvements in AI capabilities, including enhanced performance in complex tasks such as coding, logical reasoning, nuanced instruction following, and creative collaboration. Initially launched in 150 countries with optimization for the English language, Gemini is poised to expand its reach to Canada following its release.
