Isabella Strahan, daughter of renowned American television personality Michael Strahan, has provided an update on her chemotherapy journey as she bravely faces brain cancer.
At 19 years old, Strahan was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a malignant tumor located at the base of her brain. She has recently commenced the second round of chemotherapy, marking a significant milestone in her treatment.
Isabella shared updates on her treatment, revealing that she started the second phase of chemotherapy on March 21, 2024, referring to it as “No. 2 chemo” and mentioning she has “four more to go.”
Her chemotherapy journey began in February 2024. Reflecting on her experience, she highlighted the distinct side effects of chemotherapy compared to the radiation therapy she underwent the previous month.
In a vlog dated February 16, 2024, Isabella shared, “My head hurts,” while seen applying an ice pack to her scalp. She further expressed, “I feel like I’m having a heart attack. My heart hurts,” Portraying the profound discomfort she experienced throughout the treatment.
Continuing in the same vlog, she detailed the widespread pain she experienced, stating, “Every single tooth, just ripped out and not even surgically put back in. My jaw and the underside of my tongue are in pain. It hurts when I gulp water.”
Despite her determination, Isabella’s chemotherapy session was delayed due to a necessary skull surgery to alleviate excess fluid from her brain. The surgery also involved a bone replacement using a titanium plate.
Following the procedure, Isabella shared an image of herself with bandages wrapped around her head, expressing her discomfort by stating, “This sucks. I was screaming. This is not fun.”
Throughout her challenging journey, Isabella finds strength and support from her family, including her twin sister, Sophia Strahan, and her father, Michael Strahan. Recently, Michael arranged a surprise visit from Isabella’s favorite singer, Bryson Tiller, to lift her spirits during this difficult time.
