Kristen Stewart Speaks Out on Filming "Happiest Season" and Her Latest Thriller

In a recent interview with Them magazine, Kristen Stewart, known for her role in Twilight, candidly discussed her experience working on the 2020 holiday romantic-comedy, Happiest Season, describing it as “disastrous.”

Reflecting on her time filming the LGBTQ love story directed by Clea DuVall, Stewart revealed frustrations with the interference from studio executives regarding her character’s style in the film.

“I felt like the essence of my character was being overshadowed,” Stewart expressed, referring to the constant influx of notes on her appearance. “I kept thinking, ‘You hired me for a reason, didn’t you read the script?’ It was incredibly frustrating,” she added.

Happiest Season centers around a lesbian couple, Abby (played by Stewart) and Harper (played by Mackenzie Davis). Abby, who harbors a dislike for Christmas due to her parents’ passing, is invited by Harper to spend the holidays with her family. However, complications arise when Harper reveals she hasn’t come out to her family and asks Abby to pretend to be her straight roommate.

Switching gears, Stewart also discussed her role in her latest film, Love Lies Bleeding, which she described as “pretty intense.”

The thriller follows the story of Lou (played by Stewart), an introverted gym manager who becomes romantically involved with Jackie, a bodybuilder portrayed by Katy O’Brian. As their relationship unfolds, they find themselves entangled in Lou’s family’s criminal activities, leading to a series of unexpected twists and turns.
