Renowned for his diverse talent, Lukas Gage, who gained fame through his role in the series “Euphoria,” has opened up about his part in an upcoming horror film. The 28-year-old actor recently disclosed on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show an incident where he felt nauseated off-camera. Notably, Gage is presently immersed in the production of the sequel to the 2022 horror hit “Smile,” aptly titled “Smile 2.”
His revelation about the intense nature of the filming process, leading to physical discomfort, has stirred curiosity among fans and industry insiders alike.
Addressing his earlier comments, Gage clarified to THR that he didn’t vomit but experienced dry heaves. The actor, known for his role in “You,” expressed:
“I was genuinely surprised by the intensity of the experience on set. You tend to think, ‘It’s acting, it’ll be fine,’ but that movie is genuinely terrifying. The entire crew was on edge. The eerie smile alone is chilling, and when you add the gruesome scenes, it’s a lot to handle. I’ll admit, I have a weak stomach. I’m a bit of a wimp.”
While Gage remained tight-lipped about specific details of his role, he couldn’t contain his excitement for the film’s release:
“I don’t often praise my own work because I’m my harshest critic, but I am genuinely proud of this project. It’s incredibly frightening, and I believe [director] Parker Finn has once again raised the bar. We also have some exciting cameo appearances lined up.”
During his appearance on The Jess Cagle Show, Gage revealed that filming for the movie wrapped up this month, assuring fans:
“If you enjoyed the first installment, you’re in for a treat with this one. It’s truly terrifying. It’s the first time I’ve been on a set where I genuinely felt afraid and physically ill.”
Gage’s enthusiasm for the project is palpable, signaling an eagerly anticipated release for horror aficionados everywhere.
