The upcoming season promises a fresh storyline, addressing some of the criticisms received during its initial run.

Accompanying the announcement, Netflix shared a snapshot of the season 2 cast, confirming the return of the entire gang from the first installment. The streaming platform stated:

“Alongside Pedro Alonso, the gang sees the return of some familiar faces- Michelle Jenner portrays Keila an expert in electronic engineering Tristán Ulloa plays Damián a philanthropic professor and confidant of Berlin; Begoña Vargas embodies Cameron, a thrill-seeker who always lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández takes on the role of Roi, Berlin’s loyal companion; and Joel Sánchez portrays Bruce, the action-oriented member of the gang.”

During its debut week, Berlin soared to become the most-watched series globally, achieving Top 10 status in 91 countries. Maintaining its momentum, it remained in the Top 10 for seven consecutive weeks in non-English TV, accumulating an impressive 348 million hours viewed and 53 million total views, according to Netflix.

Currently ranked ninth among the most-watched non-English language series in Netflix’s history, Berlin, created by Álex Pina and produced by Vancouver Media, continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Additionally, Vancouver Media is gearing up for its next project with Netflix, El Refugio Atómico (The Fallout Shelter), set against the backdrop of an impending third world war, where a group of multimillionaires seeks refuge in a bunker.

While the return of Berlin is confirmed, fans will have to exercise patience. Netflix’s press release indicates:

“Filming for the second season of Berlin, created by Álex Pina (La casa de papel, Sky Rojo) and Esther Martínez Lobato (La casa de papel, Sky Rojo), is scheduled to commence in 2025.”

Considering potential prior commitments of the production team and cast, the release of the second season may not occur until mid-to-late 2025, possibly extending into 2026.
