Heather Gay, a prominent figure on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, disclosed in the Season 4 finale that Jen Shah was the one responsible for the black eye she suffered. Despite Heather’s assertion, Jen Shah, now a former member of the show and currently serving a prison sentence for fraud, vehemently denied the accusation. Taking to her Instagram story, Shah challenged the absence of evidence, stating, “Bravo, if I punched Heather in the eye, you guys would have footage to prove it.” She further insinuated that the show’s reliance on her narrative was evident, having been mentioned consistently throughout the season.
Shah also directed blame towards producer Andy Cohen, claiming he was displeased after she declined an interview request. Denying the assault accusation, she questioned the wisdom of sitting down for an interview with someone accused of causing harm to a fellow cast member.
During the heated exchange in the Season 4 finale, Heather Gay pointed out similarities in the behavior of Monica Garcia, a current cast member of RHOSLC and a former assistant to Jen Shah.
Jen Shah faced legal troubles, pleading guilty to wire fraud in July 2022 for her involvement in a significant telemarketing fraud scheme. Initially sentenced to six and a half years in prison, her term was later reduced, as reported by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Responding to Jen Shah’s claims, Andy Cohen addressed the issue on his show, Andy Cohen Live, aired on SiriusXM. Confirming his initial interest in a one-on-one interview with Shah before her incarceration, Cohen explained that he had reconsidered and opted not to proceed. He revealed that Shah had sought a substantial sum of money and a documentary about her life in exchange for the interview. Cohen emphasized the lack of aired footage, questioning the credibility of the assault accusation.
