Kenan Thompson Speaks Out on Allegations in Docuseries 'Quiet on Set'

In the wake of the controversial docuseries “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” which has sparked widespread discussion and allegations of assault and abuse on the sets of Nickelodeon shows, Kenan Thompson of Saturday Night Live has weighed in.

Having been part of popular Nickelodeon shows like “Kenan & Kel” and “All That,” Thompson, who rose to fame through these projects, has expressed solidarity with those who claim to have suffered abuse as portrayed in the docuseries.

During an appearance on the Tamron Hall Show, Thompson addressed the sensitive topic raised by the docuseries. “Quiet on Set” sheds light on instances of abuse that reportedly occurred on the sets of children’s shows during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

In response to queries about the docuseries, Thompson, a comedian and actor, admitted the difficulty in discussing matters he hadn’t personally witnessed, emphasizing that all the alleged incidents took place after his time at Nickelodeon. He also clarified that his interactions with Dan Schneider, a director accused of assault, were limited, particularly outside of the show “All That.”

Regarding efforts to reach out to Schneider’s team, Tamron Hall mentioned that they only received an apology video posted on YouTube. Additionally, Nickelodeon has pledged to thoroughly investigate all allegations.

Thompson urged for a deeper investigation, emphasizing the importance of ensuring a safe environment for children. He expressed empathy for those who claim to have been victimized and their families, highlighting the seriousness of the issue.

In navigating this sensitive topic, Thompson’s stance reflects concern and support for those affected by the alleged abuse within the industry.
