One of the streaming giant’s major successes, The Sandman Season 2, began production last year, much to the excitement of fans eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming season’s episode count and the adaptation of the comic to the forthcoming series.
In recent updates, The Sandman Season 2 is confirmed to consist of 12 episodes, divided into two parts of 6 episodes each. This update was announced via Independenttalent.com, revealing Jamie Childs as an executive producer for the show. The announcement on the website stated:
“Jamie Childs is presently at the helm of directing the second season of SANDMAN for Netflix. Previously he directed his debut feature JACKDAW, starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen for Anton and the Season 1 Finale block of WILLOW for Disney + and LucasFilm. Jamie served as the Co-Executive Producing Director for SANDMAN, a collaborative project involving Netflix, DC Comics, and WBTV.”
Although confirmation of the two parts of the season is pending, considering Netflix’s recent releases, it’s probable that The Sandman Season 2 will follow suit in being announced in two parts, similar to Netflix’s acclaimed series, The Stranger Things.
