Netflix recently announced the arrival of Korea’s inaugural medical drama series, “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call,” set to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2024. Directed by Lee Do Yoon, this series is an adaptation of the popular webtoon “Severe Trauma Center: Golden Hour, The Trauma Codes: Heroes On Call,” with screenwriting credits going to So Hyun Kyung and Choi Kae Tang.

- Ju Ji Hoon as Baek Kang Hyuk: Returning to television dramas after a three-year hiatus, Ju Ji Hoon rose to prominence with Netflix’s zombie horror hit, “Kingdom.”

- Young Gyung Hoo as Han Yoo: Despite being relatively new to the spotlight, Young Gyung Hoo has appeared in various Netflix originals such as “The Sound of Magic,” “Green Mothers’ Club,” “All of Us Are Dead,” “My Name,” and “Vincenzo.”
- Jeong Jae Kwang as Park Kyung Won: Taking on his first leading role in a South Korean series, Jeong Jae Kwang previously featured in supporting roles in dramas like “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and “Nevertheless.”
Plot of “The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call”
As the series is currently in post-production, an official plot synopsis has not been released. However, according to MyDramaList, the series follows Baek Kang Hyuk, a brilliant trauma surgeon known for his work in conflict zones worldwide. Upon joining a university hospital, he leads the severe trauma team, whose successes in saving patients come at a financial cost to the hospital.
